Chalet La Godille
An upside-down chalet, built for a slow evening.
Some chalets announce themselves from the road. La Godille reveals itself the other way around — you arrive at the top, at the quiet bedroom floors, and only discover the heart of the house as you make your way down through it, floor by floor, toward the fire, the terrace and the hot tub built into the hillside below.
It's a layout that rewards a party who wants both: real privacy at night, and a proper gathering space to come home to. Six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, sit on the upper two floors. Everything communal — kitchen, dining, snug, and the sunken lounge with its fireplace and wall of glass — waits on the two floors beneath, opening onto a south-facing terrace with panoramic views over Morzine.
Two minutes' walk from the telecabine and the town centre, it suits a group who want to ski hard by day and disappear into their own space by night, without giving up the short walk home.

How the chalet unfolds
Four levels, one descent
Built into the slope, La Godille is arranged so the private rooms sit above and the shared spaces sit below — you move down through the house as the evening goes on.
01
Entrance Level
Arrival, and three bedrooms
A vaulted entrance hall with a heated boot room sets the tone on arrival. Three of the six bedrooms sit at this level, each with its own bathroom and balcony — including a mezzanine suite with a separate staircase and dressing area, well suited to a cot for younger guests.
02
Second Level
Three further bedrooms
The remaining three bedrooms continue the quiet upper floors, one with a full-size bath. A bespoke wooden staircase leads on down toward the dining room and kitchen below.
03
Third Level
Dining, kitchen and the terrace
Floor-to-ceiling glass opens the dining space onto the terrace, where an eight-person hot tub, loungers and a summer barbecue look out over the mountains. A small snug beside it is made for a pre-dinner drink while a meal comes together.
04
Lower Level
The lounge, at the bottom of the house
The final floor holds a fireplace lounge with mountain views from every corner, bi-fold doors onto private balconies, an honesty bar, a large TV with games console, and a Sonos system running through the space.
