Venice Mayor wants to charge day visitors up to €50 on peak dates

Venice mayor Simone Venturini has proposed raising the city’s tourist entrance fee for day-trippers ‘on particularly busy days’.
Venice introduced its trial day-tripper tax for 29 days in 2024. Visitors pay a €5 (£3.46) fee to enter the city at weekends and holiday dates between 25 April and mid-July.
Luton Airport rail links disrupted until end of week after train crash
